Master's Admission

For Master's study, UniversityAdmissions.se states that applicants normally need a Bachelor's degree equivalent to a Swedish degree and must also meet the specific requirements of the programme. For applicants educated in India, the required academic background and documents depend on the qualification.

English Requirements

UniversityAdmissions.se states that the requirement for most Master's programmes is equivalent to Swedish upper-secondary English 6/English Level 2, although individual programmes can require a different level. Working While Studying - An Important 2026 Change

Sweden introduced new rules from 11 June 2026. For students with a residence permit granted on or after that date, Bachelor's and Master's students may generally work up to 15 hours per week during semesters. There are exceptions, including certain education-related work and work during June, July and August. Students should follow the current Swedish Migration Agency rules.

Living Costs and Weather

Living costs vary by city and lifestyle, so students should prepare a realistic monthly budget instead of relying on the old SEK 2,000-3,000 figure in the original article. Sweden has distinct seasons, including cold winters in many parts of the country, so students should plan for appropriate clothing and heating costs.

Start Planning Early

Many Swedish Master's programmes have specific application windows, and competition can be significant. Prepare transcripts, degree certificates, passport documents and English evidence early so that you are ready when the application period opens.
